Please do not submit more than one entry per genre at a time. Your file MUST be submitted in TXT, DOC, or RTF format. Any submission in another format, such as DOCX or WP, will be returned unread will need to be resubmitted in another format. You may sign in to your account at any time to check the progress of your manuscript. You may also remove your manuscript from consideration yourself by clicking "withdraw" in your account (no other action on your part is required). If you are submitting POETRY, all of the poems you are submitting (3 to 5, at most, please) should be in ONE file. If you need to withdraw part of a submission (one or more poems), you will need to e-mail quarterlywest@yahoo.com, giving your name, your login e-mail, your submission number, and the poems you would like to withdraw. If you are submitting FICTION or NONFICTION, you may submit work up to any length, though our typical acceptance is less than 7,000 words. For works 15,000 words or longer, we strongly recommend you enter our Novella Contest instead). We will accept submissions between September 1st and April 30th only. Contributors receive two copies of the issue in which their work appears, as well as a small honorarium, when funds are available. Extra contributors' copies are available instead of payment if requested. Quarterly West acquires First North American Serial Rights for the work we publish. All rights revert back to the author upon publication. If your work is later republished, we request you note its initial publication in Quarterly West. We ask that former contributors wait at least one year after publication before submitting new work to Quarterly West.

Online Submissions
Quarterly West now accepts online submissions only. This service is free, and we will continue to accept simultaneous submissions, though we request that you withdraw manuscripts that have been accepted for publication elsewhere.
Any manuscripts sent via snail mail or any other way besides through the submission manager will be returned with our regrets. However, manuscripts sent prior to our May 1, 2008, deadline will still continue through the old process.
